'Generation gutter' remark on NEET protesters: Agra lawyer files case against BJP MP Kangana Ranaut

NEW DELHI: An Agra-based lawyer on Wednesday said he has filed a case against BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut over her remarks describing students who protested against the NEET paper leak as “Generation gutter.”Rajiv Gandhi Bar Association president and advocate Ramashankar Sharma alleged that Ranaut had “insulted” the students and their parents. He also accused the BJP MP of having a “habit” of making such remarks.“I have filed a suit in the Special Court for MPs/MLAs. The suit concerns Kangana Ranaut referring to students protesting at Jantar Mantar as the ‘gutter generation’. She has a habit of making such remarks. She has insulted the country’s students and abused their parents… This is a matter concerning the students’ future,” Sharma told ANI.The court is scheduled to hear the matter on August 21.The case comes after Ranaut criticised students protesting over the NEET paper leak, describing some of them as “Generation Gutter” and questioning their behaviour and language.
