Prabhas says ‘Baahubali’ changed his life forever; says, ‘People in Italy and Peru knew me by my name’

The ‘Baahubali’ franchise remains one of the biggest films in the history of Indian cinema. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film also changed Prabhas‘ career forever and made him one of the biggest Pan-India stars. The actor recently shared how the film reached people from different countries, languages, and cultures.As ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ completes 10 years, Prabhas speaking in the newly released documentary series ‘Baahubali: The Torch Bearer’ shared that he never imagined the film would become so popular across the world. He remembered meeting people in different countries who knew him because of ‘Baahubali’.

Prabhas recalls fans from different countries

He said, “I have had people come up to me in Italy and say my name. Even in Peru, where I had gone for some charity work, kids told me how much they loved Baahubali. After Baahubali, the effect was madness.”The actor also shared a memorable incident involving director SS Rajamouli. He said, “Someone in Norway went up to Rajamouli sir and said, ‘I think you are a director.’ Sometime later he said, ‘I think you are the director of Baahubali.’ All the places Baahubali had reached were just magic.”

Prabhas says life became completely different

Prabhas said the success of ‘Baahubali’ changed his personal life in many ways. He said people now recognise him wherever he travels. He said, “When I wake up in a new country and people still recognise me, I call Rajamouli sir and say, ‘Won’t you allow me to travel in this lifetime? Don’t I deserve a personal life?’ Earlier we would go to Mumbai or Delhi to get away. That’s not an option anymore. Now wherever we go in the world, someone comes up and says, ‘Baahubali’.

Prabhas work front

Speaking of Prabhas’ current work, he has multiple big budget projects in his line up. He will be seen in the war drama film, ‘Fauzi’ director ‘Sita Ramam’ fame Hanu Raghavapudi. He is also working on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Spirit’ and later will be also seen in the sequels of mega hits ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and ‘Salaar’.
