More than 2.73 lakh aspirants have registered for undergraduate admissions at the University of Delhi (DU) for the 2026-27 academic session, with over 2.06 lakh candidates completing the programme and college preference-filling process under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG). The university will release the first seat allocation list on July 16 after the preference-editing window closes on July 13.The admission data shows that 2,73,751 candidates registered on the CSAS-UG portal, while 2,18,284 completed the registration process. Of these, 2,06,835 applicants submitted their programme and college preferences before the Phase II deadline. Female candidates account for a larger share of registrations, with 1,20,509 applicants compared with 97,775 male candidates.
Preference editing open till July 13
The University of Delhi released simulated ranks on July 12 to give candidates an indicative estimate of their position based on their CUET-UG 2026 scores and the programme and college preferences they submitted.Candidates can revise or rearrange their preferences until 4:59 pm on July 13. Once the deadline expires, the preferences will be locked for the first round of seat allocation, scheduled to be announced on July 16.
BCom (Hons) remains the most sought-after programme
The preference data indicates that commerce and humanities programmes continue to dominate applicants’ choices this year. Candidates were required to map the subjects studied in Class 12 with the relevant CUET-UG papers before selecting eligible programme and college combinations.The ten most preferred programmes are: BCom (Honours), BCom, BA (Honours) English, BA (Honours) Political Science, BA Programme (History and Political Science), BA (Honours) History, BSc (Honours) Zoology, Mathematics, BSc Programme (Life Science), and BA (Honours) Economics
Admissions offered across 67 colleges
The university is conducting admissions to 73 undergraduate programmes and more than 100 BA programme combinations across 67 colleges. Admissions will be based entirely on CUET-UG 2026 scores, subject to programme-specific eligibility criteria prescribed by the university.Candidates allotted seats in the first round will have to accept their allocation within the notified timeline. Colleges will then verify documents before approving admissions, following which candidates must pay the prescribed fee to confirm their seats. Further rounds of seat allocation will be conducted for vacancies in accordance with the university’s admission schedule.The university is also conducting the third round of admissions under the CSAS-PG process, with candidates completing seat acceptance and other admission formalities as per the revised schedule.(With inputs from PTI)
